- What is So Far So Good?
- So Far So Good is a platform for pre-released music. Producers share tracks anonymously, and Early Ears — the listeners — discover them before release, leave honest feedback, and support the producers they believe in by unlocking Early Copies. There is also a live Pre-Released Music Radio and a set of charts. It is not a music store, not a label and not a streaming service.
- What are Early Ears?
- Early Ears are the people who listen to and discover music on So Far So Good. Every member is an Early Ear automatically. Early Ears hear music before it is released, mark the moments they love, leave feedback that helps producers improve, and can support producers directly.
- Why can't I see who produced a track?
- Producers on So Far So Good are anonymous. No artist names, photos or profiles are attached to tracks anywhere — not on track pages, the charts, the radio or Discover — so the music is judged on its sound alone. A producer can choose to reveal themselves later, for example to a record label, but that is always their decision.
- What kind of music is on So Far So Good?
- Pre-released music: rough ideas, demos, works in progress and finished tracks that have not come out yet. The catalogue leans strongly electronic, spanning house, techno, trance, drum & bass, ambient and many other genres.
- How do I discover music?
- Three ways. Browse Discover and filter by genre or search; tune into the Pre-Released Music Radio, a single live stream everyone hears together; or check the charts. Listening is free and needs no account — you only need one to react, follow tracks or unlock an Early Copy.
- How does feedback work?
- Feedback is tied to a moment in the music. You pick the exact part of the track you mean and write your comment there, so the producer knows what you are reacting to. You can also drop a one-tap So Good heart on the moments you love, up to three per version. Feedback belongs to the version you are listening to, so every new version gets a fresh read.
- What is an Early Copy, and how do I unlock one?
- An Early Copy is the full-quality download of a pre-released track — the producer's original file. You unlock it by supporting the producer: choose an amount and pay with PayPal. You choose what the music is worth to you; any tax that applies in your country is added at checkout and shown before you pay. One unlock covers every version of that track, including future ones, with unlimited re-downloads from your Collection.
- What is a Track ID?
- A Track ID is the short code that identifies a track on So Far So Good — the part of its address after /music/. You can read one out, type it into search, or scan it as a QR code, and it opens the track. Every member also gets their own rewarded Track ID for any track they want to share, which works exactly the same way for whoever receives it.
- Can I earn money by sharing music I like?
- Yes — that is what Track ID Rewards are. Share a track through your own Track ID, and if someone opens it and unlocks the Early Copy within 7 days, you earn 20% of the producer's net earnings from that unlock. It costs the person unlocking nothing extra: the price is the same either way, and the reward comes out of the producer's side, which producers are told about up front. You do not need to have uploaded anything — rewards land in your balance and are paid out like any other earnings. You cannot earn on your own unlocks, or on your own tracks.
- How does the Radio work?
- The Pre-Released Music Radio is one shared live stream: everyone tuned in hears the same track at the same moment, blended together like a DJ set, around the clock and free. It plays an excerpt of each track, around three minutes long. There is no skipping, because it is live — open any track's page to hear it in full.
- What are the charts?
- Public rankings of pre-released tracks, ranked by the music alone — no names, no followers. You can see what is trending and what listeners are saving most, across a week, a month or all time.
- How do I share my own pre-released music?
- Upload it. Add your audio file, a title and up to three genres, pick the production stage, choose your release options, and confirm you own the rights. Tracks publish immediately — there is no review queue — and they enter Discover, the charts and the radio rotation straight away. Uploading is free and your identity stays hidden.
- Can someone steal my pre-released track?
- Previews stream through short-lived private links, so listeners stream rather than download. The full-quality file is delivered only after someone unlocks an Early Copy, and every delivered file carries an invisible Download ID — a leaked copy can be traced straight back to the account that downloaded it. You can also choose a lower-quality protected preview for streaming while downloads stay original quality.
- What happens when I upload a new version?
- Your track evolves on a timeline. The new version becomes the current one, earlier versions stay playable, and you can note what changed. Anyone who already unlocked an Early Copy automatically gets the new version too, at no extra cost.
- How do producers get paid, and does So Far So Good take a cut?
- So Far So Good collects each payment and records what the producer earned. Earnings settle for a short period, then producers can request a payout to PayPal once their balance reaches the minimum shown on their Earnings page. The platform keeps only the share the producer chose to leave — set per track, private, changeable at any time, and it can be nothing at all. What a producer chooses never affects how their music is discovered, ranked or played on radio.
- What are Residents and Connected Labels?
- So Far So Good Residents are vetted music professionals producers can hire for private, uncredited help: track feedback, help finishing a track, remixes, mastering or mentoring. Connected Labels are verified record labels that browse the same anonymous pre-released music as everyone else and can reach out to a producer, who stays anonymous unless they choose to reveal themselves.
